The Generosity of Strangers

Jul24

Today's Thankful Thursday is an easy one.  I am incredibly thankful for the box of baby stuff that arrived last week.  This is the third box we've received - from someone we've never even met!  Pam is my brother-in-law's neice who lives in Florida.  Her son is a couple months older than mine, and she sends us the clothes her little boy has outgrown.

This is the most amazing thing considering our economic situation right now.  The first package arrived on the day I was heading out to look for good deals on pajamas.  We didn't have much money, but I knew the baby would at least need some pj's; that afternoon a large box full of newborn onesies, pj's, and outfits arrived.  I nearly cried.  The next box came again in a timely manner, just as Brady was outgrowing the first clothes.

Now Pam has gone above and beyond.  The largest box showed up with not only clothing but toys!  Nice, big ones.  There were a couple play gyms, a Bumbo to help him learn to sit, and fall clothes.  Check out Brady in the Bumbo and playing on his activity gym.

Thank you, Pam, for your wonderful generosity.  You have no idea what it means to me and my family!

Pam sounds incredible. I mean in today's chaotic life, who takes the time to worry about others, let alone send a box of gifts, not once but thrice! And you're lucky to be the recipient of her love Smiling

Such a heartwarming post.

I know what you're saying, Nadia. I can't believe it myself. Bless her heart - this last box was rather expensive to ship also.

I am so happy to hear that your needs were met. This has heppened to us so often. The biggest example was when my husband's disabilities had reached a point that we had to have a wheelchair-accessible van -- manually getting him and out was too hard and too dangerous. We exhausted every normal resource, the United Way and all that kind of thing and just couldn't get anywhere. So we gave up, knowing that God would provide in HIS time. And he did. Absolutely amazing. I did the Mr. Linky thing (hope I did it right I've never done it before) because I do a Thankful Thursday post every week even if it's something small or minor, there's something to be particularly thankful for.

Hi Willow! That's really amazing that you were able to get your van. I'd love to hear the story. Mister Linky didn't work, but I'm gonna come visit your site right now.

Pam sounds like an amazing lady, especially considering what the postage costs must be!
And little Brady looks so adorable in his new Bumbo.

Willow is so right about there always being something to be thankful for in life.
This is a lovely post. Smiling

Hey is your son's name Brady too? How old is he? My Brady is 2 weeks.

Mine is 4 months. I can't believe how much you're getting accomplished with a new little one! I can surely relate to the difficulty getting a shower, though!
